Somit ermöglichen Dämpfungsfittings eine längere Gerätelebensdauer und tragen gleichzeitig dazu bei, die mit dem Austausch von Bauteilen, zeitaufwändigen Reparaturen und Systemausfällen verbundenen Kosten zu reduzieren.
Eine Dämpfung des Drucks wird durch den Einsatz eines porösen, gesinterten Elements aus Edelstahl 316 erreicht. Die Ansprechrate gleicht dann den anfänglichen Druckabfall über das Element aus, so dass das Gerät sanft den erforderlichen Leitungsdruck erreicht. Die fünf erhältlichen Basiselementversionen entsprechen den Anforderungen für Fluidsystemanwendungen mit leichten Gasen sowie mit Flüssigkeiten wie Schwerölen, die Viskositäten über 1.000 SUS (Saybolt Universal Second) aufweisen. Dämpfungsfittings sollten ausschließlich zum Schutz vor Druckstößen, -impulsen und -schlägen eingesetzt werden. Für eine zuverlässige Eindämmung von Verunreinigungen ist der Einsatz geeigneter Filter erforderlich.
